Join AACI as we visit the former Jewish Homelands, where Torah was studied, great Jewish thoughts were put to paper, and the sound of Yiddish caressed the villages. You will encounter still-viable Jewish communities, gaining first-hand experience of the influential extent of centuries of Jewish life in these countries.
Day 01, May 13 Sunday arrival to Tallinn
Arrival to Tallinn , meet and greet English speaking guide, transfer and check in at Hotel Clarion Europa, 2 hours Tallinn Old Town walking tour, walk to restaurant, 18:00-19:00 Kosher dinner at Jewish Restaurant walk back to hotel
Day 02, May 14 Monday, Tallinn
Breakfast, 09:00-13:00 Tallinn city sightseeing tour including Upper Town with Toompea Hill and Toompea Castle, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and Dome Cathedral and Lower Town with Town Hall Square with Old Town Hall, 14:00-17:00 visit of the Kadriorg Palace and Park (entrance), ruins of St. Brigit’s Convent, Song Festival grounds and Olympic Harbour in Pirita, and visit the Synagogue. Walk to restaurant, 18:00-19:00 Kosher dinner at Jewish Restaurant walk back to hotel
Day 03, May 15 Tuesday, Tallinn – Riga
Breakfast, 08:00 transfer to Riga, 13:00 arrival, 13:00-17:00 Jewish Riga sightseeing tour including Museum of “Jews in Latvia”, Jewish quarter, memorial for the burnt Great Synagogue, Jewish community Centre, continue with sightseeing at Art Nouveau district and Alberta Street, transfer and check in Hotel Avalon****, 19:00 vegetarian fish dinner at hotel
Day 04, May 16 Wednesday: Riga
Breakfast, 09:00-12:00 Riga city sightseeing tour including Old Town walking tour with Riga Castle, Dome Cathedral, Large and Small Guild, Freedom Monument, House of Blackheads,, Powder Tower, Freedom Monument, National Opera House, 13:00-17:00 continue with visit to Synagogue “Peitav Shul”, visit to the memorial for the victims of the Nazi regime in Bikernieki Forests, transfer back to Riga centre, 18:00 kosher dinner at Restaurant transfer back to hotel
Day 05, May 17 Thursday, Riga – Siauliai – Vilnius
Breakfast, 08:00 transfer to Vilnius via Siaulia, 10:00 photo stop in Jonuskis at White and Red synagogue, continue to Siauliai, 11:00 photo stop at Hill of Crosses in Siauliai, 11:30 transfer to Kedainiai, 13:30 arrival, 13:30-15:00 visit Kedaniai synagogue (entrance), 15:00 transfer to Vilnius, 17:00 arrival to Vilnius, check-in at Hotel Conti****, 19:00 kosher dinner at hotel
Day 06, May 18 Friday, Vilnius
Breakfast, 09:00-13:00 full day Jewish Vilnius sightseeing tour including the “Choir Synagogue”, the remains of Strashun library, the Ghetto with Vilna Gaon Statue, the “Cheap Houses” and the world famous printing-house “Widows and Brothers Romm”, the building of Judenrat at the Rudininku Street, medieval Jewish quarter, Gaon and Jewish streets, the Vilna Gaon Jewish State museum with Holocaust exposition (entrance), Jewish Cemetery, 14:00-18:00 visit to Ponerai Forest, return to hotel, 19:00 Shabbat dinner at hotel
Day 07 May 19, Shabbat, Vilnius
Breakfast, full day at leisure, kosher lunch at Hotel Conti, 19:00-20:00 kosher dinner at hotel
Day 08 May 20, Sunday, Vilnius
Breakfast, 09:00 transfer to Kaunas, 10:30-13:30 Kaunas sightseeing tour including visit to former Jewish ghetto Slobodka, Zamenhoff Street, Mapu Street, the home of Leah Goldberg, Ohel Yakov Synagogue and Jewish cemetery, and 7th and 9th Fort with Holocaust Museum and Memorial (entrance), 14:00 transfer to Trakai, 15:00 -17:00 visit of Trakai Castle (entrance), 17:00 transfer back to Vilnius, 19:00 kosher dinner at hotel
Day 9 May 21 Monday, Vilnius
Breakfast, transfer to the Airport for our flight home to Israel
